Interests:

Helping to organize Ridgefest (We're going into year 5!!!)
Supporting the local music scene!
Jamming with 2 bands (Stepping on Mars and another band yet to be named... hey, that might make a good name!)

Hobbies:

Golf / Biking / Writing my column / Reading /  Drumming

The art of jamming!! A group of musicians getting together to create music that has yet to be written.  Forming a common bond out of thin air musically with just a vibe and a time signature. A steady yet variating time signature that reflects the mood of the players in the room.

Heroes and Influences:

It may sound funny but most of my heroes end up being rock stars who've done something I regard as admirable or amazingly crazy. If you're looking for historical heroes, I'd have to say JFK because he pretty much gave NASA the mandate to land a man on the moon. He had that vision of this isn't all there is for us. We'll have to leave Earth one day and continue to explore. That is heroic, that is an amazing ability as a visionary.  Talk about being able to see the big picture!!!

Favourite Music:

Aerosmith, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Police. Those are my big five but there are so many more.

Favouirte TV Shows:

Survivor, Idol, Surreal Life, Deal or No Deal, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sopranos, Rescue Me...etc, etc, etc.

Favourite Movies:

Kingpin, Caddyshack, Borat or nearly any Farelly brothers movie. As you can see I'm a sucker for a good comedy.  I also like a riveting thriller or horror flick.  Suspense is cool.

Documentaries are of interest to me also. I really enjoyed An Inconvenient Truth.  Not the message of doom that it entails but the way it was delivered and the resolve that Gore offered.

Favourite Books:

Travelling Music (The soundtrack to my life and times) by Neil Peart, The lives of John Lennon, Walk This Way (An Autobiography of Aerosmith, How to talk to anybody, anywhere, anytime by Larry King.

Favourite Quotes:

In life we have ideas that help create things, some of those ideas are better than others. The key is to keep coming up with ideas that create positive influences relating to everything. (Me = 2006)

Life's a journey not a destination.

Life isn't like a bowl of cherries or peaches, it's more like a jar of Jalapenos--what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow......"

Never argue with idiots.  They'll only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

About Me:

Most people consider me to be a fun loving nice guy. My main thing is radio. I've been a radio personality for over 20 years! Not only is radio my lifeblood, it's my passion. I consider myself very fortunate to have a job I go to every day that I love. There are people who get up every day and go to a job they hate which makes them miserable. This in turn spreads through to what they do and they end up doing it poorly. Not good! Especially if they're the person serving your food, or pumping your gas, or serving you in any way. Important things we do in life that meam everything to us should be done with passion. 100% non wavering passion. That's how I believe we should conduct ourselves with things that are the most meaningful to us. Friendship is something to be held in high regard and I treasure all of my friends both old and new. Think about it, friends are people who have taken the time getting to know you and accepting you for who you are. Then they make plans to spend more time with you. Over time you invest time and support to for each other and forge a friendship. Something meaningful and undying.
