An alias of reclusive Seattle, WA-based producer Rafael Anton Irisarri, The Sight Below released Glider -- a dark ambient techno album seemingly inspired by shoegaze and Wolfgang Voigt in roughly equal measure, featuring layer upon layer of processed guitar -- on the Ann Arbor, MI, label Ghostly International in November 2008. The set was later taken on the road, with performances at Detroit's Movement Festival, MUTEK, and Sónar; there were other live dates at venues beside Lusine. Former Slowdive member Simon Scott occasionally joined The Sight Below on-stage and subsequently collaborated in the studio. The Murmur EP, featuring a Biosphere remix, followed in 2009. The full-length It All Falls Apart, a full-length more austere than Glider, was released in 2010 and contained a solemn cover of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades." ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
