FIVE TIPS THAT WILL GIVE YOU A PERFECT MEMORY

Scientific research proves that we forget half of what we hear after 30 minutes. But five simple tricks will permit you to remember everything you hear forever:

1.
Repeating what you hear as soon as you hear it will move the information from short-term memory into long-term memory. For example, if you're introduced to a stranger, figure out a way to mention her name in the ensuing conversation.

THIS WEEK IS  Pursuit of Happiness Week -- What does it take to be truly happy and have feelings of joy permeate your everyday life? Six British experts have found what they say are 10 simple steps we can all take to make our lives happy, reports the BBC News. The team determined that the "seeds of happiness" are in this 10-point plan:

  1. Plant something and nurture it.
  2. Count your blessings -- at least five -- at the end of each day.
  3. Take time to talk. Have an hour-long conversation with a loved one each week.
  4. Phone a friend with whom you have not spoken for a while and arrange to meet up.
  5. Give yourself a treat every day and take the time to really enjoy it.
  6. Have a good laugh at least once a day.

YOU'RE 5% LESS LIKELY TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK THE MONDAY AFTER DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS:

This is just a reminder that Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 A.M. on Sunday morning . . . so you'll have to turn your clocks BACK an hour on Saturday night, when you go to bed.

--Since we're on the topic, the end of Daylight Saving Time is a great thing . . . because it means you get an extra hour of sleep.

--But did you know that extra hour of sleep . . . could actually save your life?

--Researchers in Sweden have found that on the Monday after Daylight Saving Time ends . . . there are 5% FEWER heart attacks.

--And on the flipside, there are 5% MORE heart attacks the entire week following the start of Daylight Saving Time in the spring.  Why?

--Because sleep can affect our hearts in all sorts of ways.  And getting just one extra hour of sleep can lower your blood pressure, heart rate and your tendency to develop blood clots.

--In other words, gaining a single extra hour of sleep by "falling back" can actually protect your heart . . . at least for a day.

--You're welcome.

Would you pay 3million for a Superbowl ad to find a mate?!!

A WOMAN IS RAISING MONEY SO SHE CAN PLACE A PERSONAL AD . . . DURING THE SUPER BOWL???

Ladies . . . I know it's hard to find a good man . . . but THIS seems a little extreme to me.

--Amy Borkowsky is a standup comedian from New York City . . . and she desperately wants to settle down and get married.

--So, in order to increase her chances of finding a guy, Amy's decided to post a personal ad . . . during the Super Bowl.  Seriously.

--There's just one problem:  The going rate for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial is $3 MILLION.  So Amy's set up a website . . . called SuperBowlSingleGirl.com . . . where she's accepting donations.

--As of last night, Amy had raised $1,790 for her personal ad . . . which means she only has $2,998,210 to go.

Ferrell doing Bush = FUNNY!

"Saturday Night Live" did another one of their prime-time special 'election' editions of Weekend Update last night . . . and WILL FERRELL returned to do his impersonation of PRESIDENT BUSH.  And yes, he met up with TINA FEY as SARAH PALIN.

--Since the skit brought together the show's two most popular political impersonations in recent history, expectations were pretty high.

--It started out as a presidential address from the Oval Office.  When Tina Fey showed up, they discussed who was more folksy, plus Will Ferrell described how the Vice President was actually more powerful than the president.

(--You can check out the skit yourself, here . . .)

Mark Wahlberg Talks to Farm Animals... Funny or no? You be the judge.

You may not have realized this, people, but we almost lost MARK WAHLBERG . . . to RETIREMENT.  (???)  Seriously . . . 37-year-old Mark Wahlberg was close to hanging it up.  But his new movie, "Max Payne", is doing so well, he might not.

--He says, quote, "Maybe I'll retire at 45 now.  We'll see.  I do want to be able to take my kids to school and drag them to the golf course with me.  I can't be working at the pace that I am for much longer."

(--I understand how all the "SNL" water cooler talk this fall has been about TINA FEY.  But I honestly believe the show's funniest skit this year has been "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals".  Check it out if you haven't seen it yet . . .)
