It is not often that Russian videos go viral, so when this one came about, I just knew I had to write about it. Mr. Trololo (a.k.a. Edward Eduard Hill) is owning YouTube with over two million page views and 13,000 comments in just three months. In fact, my buddy spike sent me the link to the trololo video about a week ago and at that time the clip I viewed was just over 100,000 views. Now it's passed the 2 million mark!!!
The guy has it all.
He is:
a) Russian
b) a good singer with vocals that just make you want to jump up and sing along
c) quite animated in his singing style

Two of my favorite bits of pop culture will both be making a comeback this year! Movie adaptations of the three stooges and The A-Team will be hitting the big screen in 2010. The Stooges take me back to my days as a kid when I used to head down to the old Strand or Towne Cinema theatres to catch a matine with my brother Bill. Before the feature flick they used to run a few stooges shorts instead of cartoons. Come to think of it, we may have gone to the theatre more for the Stooges than the feature film. Moe Larry and Curly had an indelible effect on my life which is probably why I wound up working in radio.
The other slice of the pop culture pie that claimed much of my time was the classic early 80s TV show The A-Team! How could you not be a fan of that show? As a teen I found it extremely cool that 4 dudes would cruise around in a sweet looking van just randomly tuning in bad guys. Imagine if the Stooges took over the A-Teams gig? That's what this new promo vid is all about. Check it!

The Mid-Atlantic States got slammed with a winter blast over the weekend that brought upwards of 30-inches of snow to some areas. The storm was appropriately referred to as "snow-mageddon" or "snowpocalypse." Riding the wave of panic was local Baltimore meteorologist Jim Kosek, who did little to calm people's nerves about the impending blizzard.
