What do you think is the best sporting song?

Is there a specific tune that really gets your blood pumping just before watching or playing a sporting event?

Personally? I think this list is mostly wrong but its out and open for debate now thanks to Classic Rock Magazine.  Even the Rock is thinking what I said when I first saw this list... (See pic at top right) Sometimes I think they just put these lists out to cause outrage among rock music fans. Well they've got to do something to sell magazines now don't they?

Van Halen's "Jump" has topped a poll of the world's best sporting songs just as the 2012 Olympics get underway in London. According to Classic Rock, music rights organization PRS For Music held a vote among its members to pick the top songs that have been adopted for sporting events, with the Top 20 also including tracks from the Rolling Stones, Queen, the Beatles, House Of Pain, Tina Turner and Journey.

"Jump" appeared on Van Halen's sixth studio album, 1984, which was released on December 31st, 1983. It was the last Van Halen record until this year to feature singer David Lee Roth. Interestingly enough, "Jump" may have played a role in Roth's exit, since at the time he was reportedly unhappy with the heavy use of synthesizers on the song. Nevertheless, "Jump" went to Number One and became Van Halen's biggest hit.

Roth rejoined the group in 2007 for a hugely successful reunion tour, and the band released a new record, A Different Kind Of Truth, earlier this year.
