Let’s start today’s bloggy blog with a local sports note for all baseball fans looking for something to do tonight.  The Brandon Senior AA Baseball League rescheduled the game that was rained out on May 28 has been rescheduled for tonight at Brandon Field. First pitch will be thrown at 7:00 pm.

Buffalo Days begin today in Luverne, Minnesota. The three-day event features the world famous Buffalo Chip Throwing contest… how bored do you have to be to invent this game?  Imagine the scene… “Hey bob, see that steaming pile of Buffalo waste over there?  Let’s wait until it dries… pick it up and see who can throw it the fastest.  C’mon, I’m tired of horseshoes, horseshoes is for wussies!! What we need is a new game where objects are flung… but we add the elements of chance and surprise… take your chances and try not to get any on ya… if you do? Surprise!!!”

Researchers tested bananas vs. Gatorade during a tough period of cycling, and discovered that bananas deliver the same performance as sports drinks, and offered up a healthier blend of sugars. Of course, it's hard to dump a bucket of bananas over your coaches head after the big game, so Gatorade will always have its place.
