This single is U2's second from their 1983 album War. Bono wrote "Two Hearts Beat As One" on his honeymoon. The song ranked as the fifth most popular single in New Zealand's Rip It Up poll that year. It also was number 18 on the U.K. charts. The double 7" version of this single contains the 7" mix of "Two Hearts Beat As One," the B-side "Endless Deep," and two remixes, "New Year's Day (US Remix)" and "Two Hearts Beat As One (US Remix)," both previously available on the French New Year's Day.
