This superb Lp has fortunately been reissued in full on Dick Wellstood's Chiaroscuro CD And His Orchestra Featuring Kenny Davern. With drummer Bobby Rosengarden rounding out the trio, clarinetist Davern and Wellstood are heard at the peak of their powers and they consistenly inspire each other on a set of dixieland standards which are not usually heard in this type of intimate setting (such as "Original Dixieland One-Step," "Tiger Rag" and "Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone") plus Thelonious Monk's fairly basic "Blue Monk" and the hot stomp "Oh Peter." Since the CD also contains a duo set by Wellstood and Davern from 1973, get it.
