Here's the first of two table scrap releases from Mission of Burma, post-breakup. The thing is, these table scraps make for a fine feast, as there's little filler to be found here. Though starting off with an inferior, rough-sounding version of "This Is Not a Photograph," your money is worth it alone for the track that follows, Clint Conley's "Peking Spring," which nears "That's When I Reach for My Revolver" in catchiness and immediacy. The rambunctious, rumbling "Blackboard" is another furious gem. When drummer Peter Prescott exclaims, "You have done these awful deeds/ Now you have to pay," you almost want to turn off the stereo and hide under your bed.
