Album Review

Although they were an innovative, fascinating, and highly influential recording outfit in the late '60s and early '70s, the Band were never a singles act and none of their songs ever made much of a dent in the pop charts, so calling this 12-song compilation "Platinum" is kind of misleading, particularly since what is included here is sort of random at best. Not that anything present here isn't worth hearing, just that it's all been available before in the original settings, and those original albums remain the best way to hear the Band.
